Our Table: Shrimp Fettuccine

{Shrimp Fettuccine}

Ever since Atlanta’s snow storm last week, I have been craving something warm and spicy! Luckily, my boyfriend has a little cajun in him and has delicious family recipes. I decided to tackle home made shrimp fettuccine and it did not disappoint! Enjoy.

1 stick of unsalted butter
1 medium onion (chopped)
2 ribs of celery (chopped)
1 small or 1/2 medium bell pepper (chopped)
1/4 cup of flour
1 lb of shrimp (uncooked)
4 tablespoons of chopped parsley
1 pint of half & half
2 cups of fiesta cheese (I used the Kroger brand)
1 cloves of garlic (crushed)
salt and pepper to taste
1 lb pkg of fettuccine noodles
Parmesan cheese to taste


First, melt butter in a large saucepan.
Add onion, celery and bell pepper- cook about 10 minutes until the onions are clear.

 Add flour, blend in well. Cover and cook for 5 min- stir occasionally to avoid burning.

While making the sauce, boil water then add shrimp. Cook shrimp until red and all the shrimp float to the surface.

Add parsley and shrimp to the saucepan.


Add half & half, cheese, and garlic. Mix well.

Add salt and pepper to taste. Cook covered on low heat for 15 minutes. Stir occasionally.


Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and add shrimp mixture. Mix throughly. Pour into a 9 x 13 buttered casserole dish. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Bake at 350 for 30 min.
