Pizza is pretty much my all time favorite food. Or maybe cheese is my favorite food, and pizza seems like a socially acceptable way to eat a lot of gooey cheese for a meal? Oh, and bread. Is anyone else getting hungry?
Since I do eat pizza relatively often, I’m always looking for new and different ways to eat it..and ways to make it at home so that I can give the good people at Pizza Hut a break. A couple of months ago I was watching the Food Network, and saw The Pioneer Woman making this Fig-Prosciutto & Arugula Pizza. I rarely do this, but I ran to the grocery store so that I could make it for myself. It did not disappoint! It has quickly become my go-to for parties. I’ve even done it in flatbread and bruschetta form. They’re all equally delicious!
The Pioneer Woman starts out by making her own dough, but I am a cheater and buy pre-made crusts at the grocery store.
Other than the crust, I follow her recipe exactly. It’s very simple, and it always seems fancier than it really is. The sweetness of the fig spread, the warm gooeyness of the fresh mozzarella, the saltiness of the prosciutto, and the mild spiciness of the arugula make for a great combination. Enjoy!
