Beach Bag Essentials & A Trip to Pawley’s Island

Recently, I ventured to Pawley’s Island, South Carolina for #teacherspringbreak2014.I love trips to the beach! Laying out is my outdoor activity of choice (just ask my hubs). In order to make the experience even more fun, my beach bag always needs to be stocked with all the right essentials.

Pawley’s Island was a quiet retreat for this teacher/Ph.D candidate. I was ready to catch up on reading that wasn’t centered around the topic of Manifest Destiny or imperialism (two of my favorite topics, but everyone needs a break from scholarly reading). Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? is a perfect beach read!

Fresh seafood is a must when at the beach. My husband and I headed to Bistro 217 after a recommendation from one of my hometown besties and Pawley’s Island resident, Christie. I ordered the Seared Scallop Salad with Roasted Goat Cheese and it did not disappoint. It was literally the best salad I have EVER eaten.

Christie and I love a good hamburger, especially ones with gluten free buns (#CeliacBesties)! We went to bisQit and were not disappointed. My husband was sold as well. Doesn’t it look amazing?

Everything about bisQit was great! Who can complain about gluten free fries & a gluten free bun? (My husband enjoyed my onion ring)

Check out my post on Farm Burger if you are on the search for a great hamburger in Atlanta.

On the way to bisQit for our double date!

I hope the beach is in your near future!
