A venue can make or break any event. This summer I have had the pleasure of hosting events on all ends of the spectrum. Baby showers, wedding showers, alumnae events, and Bible study gatherings to list a few of my favorites. Here are a few venue ideas that might be a great fit for your next event.
Art galleries are a great go to event location. Limited to no extra decoration or lighting is needed so attention can be kept to food, drink, and centerpieces. The picture above is at Stark Art Pop-Up Gallery where I hosted the Sweet Briar Atlanta Alumnae Club event this summer. It is owned by one of my classmates and currently is show 6 artist work. The location was a hit. Art is also a great conversation starter if you have a group with many people who do not know each other.
Girly lunch spots can’t be beat for baby or wedding showers. The Supper Club ladies and I hosted a wedding shower this summer at the Swan Coach House. Read more about the details here.
For a larger group locations like The Painted Pin in Atlanta are a great option. Space is not limited and there are so many fun activities for everyone in the group. Bowling, basketball, shuffleboard, and more. My Bible study group went here for a girls night out and we had a blast. I am trying to gather a group of couples to go back soon because I think Ryan would love it. Who wants to go with us?
Sometimes there is no better place to have a party that at your home. Above is my favorite picture from a gender reveal party I hosted for a great friend at her home. The parents wanted an intimate location to share this big surprise with their close family and friends. The grandmothers’ faces say it all. It was a great brunch in a wonderful home.
Your neighborhood club house is a great option that can be very affordable and convenient for an event. If your house is not quite big enough for your expanding guest list or the weather will not permit making everyone hangout in the yard look to this option for the private at home experience but with more space. A full kitchen and large TV in many club houses might mean your party goers never want to leave.
I am off to find the perfect location for one of my best friends wedding showers in Richmond, VA. Ideas are welcome!
Happy party planning y’all.
