Katie, one of my hometown girls, and I hosted our third annual favorite things party yesterday. It is so fun for us to get together with all of our favorite Atlanta girls and celebrate the Christmas season. We had about 30 girls this year and it was perfect!
This year we opted to skip out on paper invites and use Paperless Post.
We mixed champagne and sparkling cranberry juice 1:1. We made an non alcoholic version by subbing ginger ale for champs. I made ginger ale & cranberry ice cubes the day before so that our drinks would not dilute. The ice cubes were super easy to make in my new ice cube trays from Target. We also served water with lemon and lime.
This year, all of our girls brought their favorite holiday dish along with their favorite things. Katie and I served a variety of cheeses.
Trader Joes is the place to go for cheese. I picked up the three above there and they are all delicious. I made the cheese plate by painting an old serving tray with Martha Stewart chalk paint.
Katie taught me a new recipe, lemon curd pomegranate cream cheese dip. This is a must try recipe this holiday season. It is super simple. We covered a block of reduced fat cheese with Trader Joe’s lemon curd and fresh pomegranate seeds.
We also served a block of Havarati, cheddar and gouda. We used Crunchmaster crackers with all cheeses.
We used paper chalkboard placemats for guest to use for food labeling. I forgot to snap a pic of the food spread, but I promise it was incredible.
Katie and I found these incredible cookies at Trader Joe’s the other day. We placed them in paper bakery bags and stamped them with our party hash tag (#akftp …. Aubrey Katie Favorite Things Party) and “thank you”. We sealed them with washi tape.
* for our gluten free guest we packaged gluten free peppermint Joe Joes.
Each attendee brought their favorite item under $10 (x3). My favorite thing was a self put together kit for gift giving. It had the thank you stamp I used on the favor bags, an ABC stamp set, a chalk marker, gift tags, letter stickers, and brown paper bags (thank you Target one spot!). Katie did a variety of Mrs. Meyer’s products.
How does it work: Each girl explains her gift and then we used the iPad app, iLEAP Pick A Student (I entered everyone as they came in), to pick which three people received their gift. We allowed people to switch at the end of the party.
The girls brought a variety of fun items!
