Atlanta Eats: The Pig & The Pearl

A few weeks ago, my fiance and I ventured down to Atlantic Station on a double date with one of our favorite couples! Since I grew up in Atlanta, Atlantic Station never really appealed to me as a shopping and dining option except for the occasional movie at the Reg (if you grew up OTP, you know what the Reg is). We decided to branch out from the norm and tested out The Pig & The Pearl.

My friend Erin & I decided to share a dozen raw oysters. The waitress did an excellent job explaining our choices and recommended two fabulous choices. We ended up getting 6 Beausoleil and 6 Pocomoke oysters.

mac and cheese

The smoked cheddar mac & cheese was amazing! I love anything spicy, and the mac & cheese had a dash of tabasco in it. This is a dish that I will definitely be getting again.

grits

I hate to say this, but the Rib Tips n’ Grits were really disappointing. There was not a lot of flavor to the dish, and the grits weren’t the creamy grits we were expecting. They were more clumpy than smooth. I would not get this dish again.

brisket

Chris ordered the brisket, and he was also disappointed with his dish. The plate was awkwardly small that it was served on, and just like the grits there was no flavor or dry rub to them. It was just a small plate of meat.

Overall, we had a good experience at The Pig & The Pearl. There are dishes that we would not order again, but we will be going back and trying out a few new things.
