Run like a Princess

A few weekends ago, my Mom and I ventured down to Orlando for the Disney Princess Half Marathon. This was our third time participating in the race, and it has become more than just a race to us. I always look forward to spending the weekend with my Mom and pretending to be a kid again at the Magic Kingdom. If you haven’t heard of the Princess Half before, check it out! I love that the race supports Children’s Miracle Network – an organization very dear to my heart. This year, race particpants raised over $300,000 for CMN.

We kicked off our first day at Disney at the Run Disney Expo at the ESPN Wide World of Sports (the  Atlanta Braves spring training!) where we picked up our race day packets and other goodies. I picked up this adorable tank at the expo and I regret that I did not pick up the other cute ones they had.

After the Expo, we ventured over to the happiest place on the Earth – The Magic Kingdom!

Does anyone else think it’s just wrong that the Magic Kingdom has a STARBUCKS on Main Street?! I guess I shouldn’t complain since I drank it twice… whoops!

I wish they sold a reusable version of this Starbucks cup!

Of course, you have to take a photo in front of the castle. I was missing my #barrebestie big time and decided to squeeze in a quick #pulsetucksmile on Main Street. Vacation is no excuse to not get your daily tuck in! I am slightly addicted with Pink Barre, you can read about our obsession here.

#sorryimnotsorry – I couldn’t resist a trip to Disney without enjoying one Mickey Mouse ice cream bar and a Mickey waffle.

My favorite tradition at the Magic Kingdom (don’t laugh!) is dinner with Winnie the Pooh and his friends at the Crystal Palace.

After two days of playing at the Magic Kingdom, it was finally race day! This was my third Disney Princess Half Marathon and each year, it keeps getting better and better. Next year, we are aiming on completing the Glass Slipper Challenge – a 10k and half marathon in one weekend. Who’s joining me?!

I highly recommend to everyone who is training or thinking of training for a race to use Jeff Galloway’s training guide. In my opinion, it’s the best resource out there for runners. Even if you are just getting started, there are tips and guides on how to begin training. Don’t forget to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

I can’t wait till next year’s race! Who’s with me?! #alwaysaprincessatheart

What a great way to do something fun, race, spend time with your mother and give money to a great cause. Awesome weekend and the photos make it look like a blast.
