Bar Harbor Activities and Eats

The Supper Club just headed up to Bar Harbor to celebrate Mal and Chris tying the knot. Before we left, Mal typed up a great list of eats and activities for us. We almost conquered all of her must dos in about four days. We loved every minute in Bar Harbor and can’t wait to go back.

Lighthouse tour & whale watching – The lighthouse tour is really cool! Bring extra warm clothes for whale watching.

Acadia National Park –
Here you can go hiking, drive to the top of Cadillac Mountain (where the sun rises first in the USA), eat at the Jordan Pond House, go biking, and go to the beach! There is a free shuttle into the park (you have to pay $10 for parking per car otherwise).

 Kayak/paddle boarding

The Criterion Theatre (this just opened in May!)

Improv Acadia

Oli’s Trolley

Shopping on Main Street –  There are plenty of cute shops and ice cream locations. Make sure you get your picture with the lobster on a park bench with your ice cream cone!

Where to eat:

Stewmans – ahhh so yummy. Their salads are soooo good. You can also pick your own whole lobster πŸ™‚

Jordan Pond House – Make a reservation beforehand!! (MUST GO GET POPOVERS FOR AFTERNOON TEA  and lobster rolls are divine here, too.)

Side Street Cafe – Incredible mac and cheese and lobster rolls. The restaurant is extremely gluten free friendly.

Havana – Delicious! Where the presidents dine when they come to town.

Thrive Juice Bar – really good juices

Thirsty Whale Tavern – Great selection of local drinks

Geddy’s – Funky bar on Main Street. A favorite place to get local beers. You must try blueberry beer! Very gluten free friendly.

The Coffeehound – favorite local coffee house

The Reading Room Restaurant– Date night spot $$$. It is really pretty and the food is great!

Jennie’s Great Maine Breakfast – pancakes…yummm. Gluten free and vegan friendly.

Jordan’s Restaurant – good breakfast as well!

Where we stayed:

The Central House – Very reasonable prices. High season rooms starting at $95.

Please excuse the lack of quality photos in our post. We were not in full blogger mode, but celebration mode. We can’t wait to share pics of the wedding.  Add a trip to Bar Harbor to your bucket list.

Happy Tuesday!
